Carlos Obeid

Chief Financial Officer

As Mubadala’s Chief Financial Officer, Carlos is responsible for managing the organization’s corporate and support functions; including, but not limited to, Treasury, Finance, Structured Finance & Capital Markets, Acquisitions and Investment Management, Human Resources and Administration, Enterprise Technology & Services, Strategic Planning & Macroeconomics, Construction Management Services and Corporate Support Services.

Carlos is also a member of Mubadala’s Investment Committee. The committee is mandated to develop the organization’s investment policies, establish investment guidelines and review all proposed projects and investments to ensure they are in line with Mubadala’s business objectives.

In addition to his position as Chief Financial Officer of Mubadala, Carlos is a member of the Board of Directors of several key Mubadala Group and other operational businesses.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mubadala GE Capital, Viceroy Hotel Group, and Mubadala CapitaLand Real Estate.  Carlos is also a Director of Yahsat, Mubadala Infrastructure Partners (MIP), Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Injazat Data Systems, Waha Capital, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi , ALDAR Properties PJSC , Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) and GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc.

Prior to joining Mubadala, Carlos worked with the UAE Offsets Programme Bureau where he led a wide range of initiatives including privatization, utilities and financial services.

Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a Masters in Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
