Mubadala Healthcare’s investment focus includes patient care delivery and ancillary services, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical equipment/ device manufacturing. We evaluate potential projects both on their likely commercial returns as well as on their socio-economic impact. Our aim is to establish sustainable businesses, build regional capability and stimulate the overall development of the sector.
Our first priority has been to address the region’s most pressing healthcare needs through the creation of specialist healthcare facilities. In collaboration with medical organizations such as Johns Hopkins Medicine International, Imperial College London and Cleveland Clinic, our goal is to create an integrated healthcare network, supported by state-of-the-art IT systems and medical technologies to provide excellent clinical outcomes and a seamless patient experience.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi a state-of-the-art 360-bed Cleveland Clinic hospital, scheduled to open in 2012.Imperial College London Diabetes Centre a centre of excellence specializing in diabetes treatment, research, training and education; opened in 2006.
Abu Dhabi Knee & Sports Medicine Centre the first healthcare facility in the Middle East to specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with knee and sports-related injuries; opened in 2006.
Tawam Molecular Imaging Centre a specialist molecular imaging facility including PET-CT and Cyclotron, managed by Johns Hopkins Medicine International. It is due to open on the Tawam Hospital campus in Al Ain city in early 2010.
Minhaal the first dual-language online resource providing accurate and up-to-date medical information in both English and Arabic; launched in January 2008.
National Reference Lab a fully automated reference laboratory, managed by Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp), which will serve both public and private health providers in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The first phase will open in Dubai in 2009 with the main Abu Dhabi hub scheduled for completion in 2010.
Arzanah Wellness & Diagnostic Centre a multi-specialty facility operated by Singapore’s AsiaMedic Limited. It will provide a range of medical specialties as well as advanced diagnostic imaging. It will be located at the Arzanah Medical Complex and is due to open in 2011.
Wooridul Spine Centre a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic services to spine injury patients, based on a minimally invasive treatment principle. The Centre will be operated by Korean spine specialists, Wooridul, and is scheduled to open at the Arzanah Medical Complex in 2011.
