Mukhaizna (Block 53)
Our wholly owned subsidiary, Liwa Energy, holds a 15 percent participating interest in the Mukhaizna Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) project in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Mukhaizna field (Block 53) contains a heavy, sour crude oil (15-16 API Deg) and covers 694 sq. km. Occidental Mukhaizna LLC, the designated operator, assumed operations in September 2005.
The field is currently producing around 95,000 bopd, an increase of over 85,000 bopd since Occidental Mukhaizna took over development of the field. The next milestone of 150,000 bopd is scheduled to be reached in early 2013.
