Nursultan Block (N Block)
We signed a major contract with ConocoPhillips and KazMunaiGas (KMG) in 2009 covering the joint exploration and development of the Nursultan Block (‘N’ Block) in the Caspian Sea, offshore Kazakhstan.
The Block is located 30 kilometers south-southwest of Aktau, Kazakhstan and covers approximately 8,100 sq. km, an area considered to be prime territory for oil and gas prospecting in the region.
As a majority owner, KMG will hold 51 percent of the subsoil use contract, with the balance shared equally by Mubadala and ConocoPhillips.
