Etisalat Nigeria was launched in late 2008 to capitalize on the growth potential for mobile telephone services in one of Africa’s most strategically important markets. We hold a 30 percent stake in the company, alongside the operating partner, Etisalat.
By mid-2009, EMTS had signed up more than one million subscribers across 10 states, with the regulator rating the network as best in quality of service amongst its peers.
With a population of more than 146 million people, and mobile penetration of more than 50 percent, Nigeria has enjoyed significant economic development and offers high growth potential over the coming years. The innovative GSM provider currently offers unique products, such as Easy Starter, Easy Cliq, Elite World and Easy Net, in the Nigerian market.
