Azaliya

Founded in 2009, Azaliya is a water services joint venture between Mubadala and the French company, Veolia Water. It was established to address the water-related requirements of the Middle East and North Africa, including water purification and distribution, wastewater treatment and reuse.

Azaliya is now the largest water business in the region, providing services to more than 8.5 million people, and wastewater services to 5.5 million people, from Tangiers in Morocco, to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In early 2010, Azaliya inaugurated the Al Sharqiyah Desalination Plant in Oman to provide fresh drinking water to approximately 350,000 residents in the region.
