Guinea Alumina Corporation
In 2006, we acquired a 8.33 percent stake in the Sangaredi Alumina refinery project in Guinea, West Africa, alongside fellow stakeholders Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL), BHP-Billiton and Global Alumina Corporation (GAC) of Canada.
Located adjacent to some of the world’s highest quality bauxite reserves, the first stage of the refinery project will produce around three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina per annum, with clear expansion opportunities available.
